The Dallas Mavericks and forward Dirk Nowitzki have agreed to a four-year contract worth $80 million according a report by ESPN.

According to the report the contract include a no-trade clause for Nowitzki.

The Mavericks and Nowtizki had been negotiating since Friday, with a brief break Saturday morning for the German native to watch his homeland defeat Argentina in the World Cup.

The Mavericks could have paid him up to around $96 million under terms under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, but obviously were able to convince him to stay home for less money.

The Mavericks next challenge is how to improve the team with little or no space under the salary cap Though Nowitzki's deal for less money than expected, does provide some wiggle room for the option owner Mark Cuban is pitching to free-agents, sign-and-trade scenarios.
