Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has now won 12 games as a lower-seed games in the NCAA Tournament more than any head coach in tournament history.
Izzo has been to the Elite 8 in 50% of the NCAA Tournaments he has participated in. Not bad.
Izzo’s winning percentage in the Elite eight ranks 4th all-time at .750 with an overall record of 6-2, he trails Coach K at .846 11-2 Denny Crum .857 6-1 and John Wooden 1.000 12-0.
–Kevin Durant will miss the remainder of the 14-15 season including the playoffs and will be out 4 to 6 months after he has surgery on his right foot, the team announced Friday.

—A high school principle thought it would be a good idea to prohibit a special needs student from wearing a varsity letter jacket, after receiving a complaint from a parent. That move has turned into a national firestorm and an online petition.
–Jarred Cosart told ESPN that he was caught off guard by MLB’s investigation into possible gambling ties uncovered on Twitter.
