Regardless of the outcome, Leicester City has already made huge waves for their city and for their club. “Humble beginnings” is an understatement when talking about Leicester City. As a comparison, their starting squad costs 24 million dollars, when squads like Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United all have a starting squad cost well over 200 million dollars.

Sunday, the underdog faced Manchester United, a powerhouse of a team with 13 Premier League titles. This match was Leicester’s chance to clinch the league. Manchester United hosted Leicester at Old Trafford.

One corner of the stadium showed white and blue as the Leicester fans prepared for this epic match. However, United quickly showed their dominance with a goal from Anthony Martial 10 minutes into the match. Leicester City then appeared to be very nervous and flustered from the strong attacks from Manchester United.

Leicester pushed forward and only nine minutes after United pulled ahead, put the ball in the back of the net. Leicester’s captain Wes Morgan connected with the ball with a header past United’s keeper David de Gea.

With the score at 1-1, neither team would score again by the end of the 90 minutes. With a draw, Leicester City still has a chance to take the title of the Premiere League. The determining factor will be a match on Monday between second place Tottenham and Chelsea. If Chelsea gets the win against Tottenham, Leicester city will have made it from the complete bottom to the absolute top.
